Commercial Vehicle Collision Reconstruction Course

Posted

Course Description

This program is delivered to both police and private sector investigators who primarily investigate heavy motor vehicle collisions. The program is very in depth and requires participants to have at least basic on scene training or an equivalent. Some of the components are speed analysis, rollover and braking dynamics, air brake systems and one full day of practical testing on a test track.

Incident scenes will usually involve a very large area which make it more difficult to investigate. These incidents due to their size and dramatic occurrence quickly become very high profile, regardless of what or whom is involved.

CVCRC will introduce investigators to a number of the areas including configurations that make up a Commercial Vehicles dynamic characteristics and how they affect the performance of the vehicle. This course will discuss dynamics in detail in order to understand Commercial Vehicles stability in cornering and braking situations. Speed analysis involving both roll over and braking will be developed in conjunction with the interpretation of physical evidence (tire marks).
